Pipe Extrusion

What is Pipe Extrusion?

  • Resin is plasticated by an extruder and shaped into the form of a pipe by a die
  • The still soft pipe is fed into a calibrator which adjusts the dimensions of the pipe
  • The pipe then goes into the cooling system
  • After cooling, the pipe goes into the take-off system called a puller. The puller controls the speed of the extrusion line
  • Then the pipe is cut into a specified length by a cutter
  • Finally, the cut pipes are stacked (or wound up) by a stacker (or a coiler)
